Good Lord, Hobart's Even Got a NEW One!

It seems the outgoing Archbishop of Hobart, Adrian Doyle, has as a parting gesture commissioned a new website...

Still nothing from our good friend the Lord Armidale however!!

Although it is worth noting the Lord Lismore's website is just spiffy and he isn't slated to go anywhere!

Episcopal 'To Be or Not To Be'...

Three reasons why this bishop is unlikely to be the next Archbishop of Brisbane:

1. This is not a chasuble...

2. This is not distinctive clerical dress...

3. This is not a smile...

There endeth the lesson!

Lord, that I may see.

The Sisters of the Good Samaritan, founded way-back-when by Archbishop John Polding of Sydney, have had a Chapter and have "discerned a new vision statement". Rather makes it seem as if the "vision statement" was always there in some unrecognised form, and all they had to do was stare slightly out-of-focus for long enough for it to suddenly leap into view, like one of the stereogram puzzles they used to print in the Sunday newspapers.
As with most vision statements, its a load of twaddle: “As Sisters of the Good Samaritan we seek God who impels us to be neighbour. Therefore we commit ourselves to: the Work of God, partnership, creation.”

Sisters, God doesn't himself impel you to "be neighbour": you are neigbours to those around you just by virtue of not being dead yet. Question is, are you behaving as neighbours should? It is a bit rude to plagiarise from the Daughters of Charity motto: "The love of Christ impels us"

And as to committing yourselves to "creation", please let us know when you manage to create something out of nothing.
