Happy Easter
From which Cloister... "let us call it Barchester. Were we to name Wells or Salisbury, Exeter, Hereford, or Gloucester, it might be presumed that something personal was intended; and as this tale will refer mainly to the cathedral dignitaries of the town in question, we are anxious that no personality may be suspected." Rather, it is intended to be... a hoot!

FORKED TONGUE OR SNAKE OIL, COYNE'S CLUELESS ON TOM TOM MESSAGE...
Fr Comensoli has been named the next Auxiliary for Sydney and almost immediately our aCatholic friends are keen to work out the new man's politics. Such things are important to the remnant rump of the self appointed custodians of the 'Spirit' of Vatican II.
That incredible mystic Brian Coyne has announced to those over at aCatholic Central that he is hearing things again... this time it's tom toms!
“Not an appointment from the big man.” he says.

Guff and nonsense. Peter Comensoli has long been a watched man by the Cardinal. Completely out of touch, Coyne! Making stuff up as usual!

ROME ANNOUNCES A NEW BISHOP FOR SYDNEY...
The Holy Week silence has been interrupted and within the hour one lucky Australian Archdiocese will have a new Bishop!
Fr Peter Comensoli of the Diocese of Wollongong will become the next Auxilary of Sydney...
We are not really meant to say anything until 8pm but then someone should tell the Bishop Conference's media unit... but then they would be following the example of His Lordship Wollongong who made the announcement at the annual Mass of the Holy Oils in St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral, to the spontaneous applause of the clergy and laity of the Diocese... or so the media release says!
Embargo indeed!

MALONE'S MIASMA HEADED IN THE WRIGHT DIRECTION?
At last the Diocese of the Big Drain has a new bishop... American born, Sydney priest Fr William Wright.
Serving as parish priest in a number of Sydney parishes, Wright proved a "go to kind of guy" when he assumed responsibility of Liverpool Parish in Sydney's south west following certain events in 2009.
The only potential fly in the ointment may prove to be this small, rather innocuous, comment reported in the Catholic Weekly following the Queensland floods...

“I have emailed my old mate Bishop William Morris, Bishop of Toowoomba, offering financial assistance and prayers.”Best pray for the bishop-elect... with "old mates" like Toowoomba and a predecessor like the Miasma's, he's going to need it!
